My dearest Ginger

For many years I had a beautiful ginger cat called well, Ginger, which you may have seen mentioned on my author pages on various sites. Ginger ‘chose’ me through what I have heard called the ‘cat distribution system’ 😁 One day he came through my cat flap and just never left! He muscled his way into my life until he was at the very centre of it and everything revolved around him.

I was in my twenties when he came to live with me and I was lucky enough to have his company for 20+ years. When he eventually passed away, he was a really old boy who had lived a wonderful life. It broke my heart to lose him, but I have so many cherished memories of our time together to comfort me.

I thought it about time I updated some of those corners of the internet. I’ve put it off for so long because I liked that he lingered there still, but time marches on and my constant shadow these days is a ginger dog rather than a ginger cat.

I wanted to tell you all about my wonderful Ginger before I make any edits, so thank you for listening/reading. Here are a couple of photos of Ginger in two of his favourite places. If I was gardening or sat outside, then so was he. If I was drawing or painting or scrapbooking, then he was lying smack bang in the middle of my supplies.

Even my laptop wasn’t safe when I was writing my earliest novels. He would stretch out over the keyboard and lie there eyeing me! He was such a beautiful boy, and these still bring a smile to my face. I hope they do yours too. ~ Alice x
