"He knew what he would choose for her, of course. Aphrodite’s bower, complete with attendant cupid statues" - Jeremy Vance, A Foolish Flirtation

On a recent, wonderful trip to Paris, I visited the Louvre where there were so many beautiful statues - Jeremy would have loved it there! This magnificent sculpture is a replica of the Aphrodite of Thespiae, carved by Praxiteles for the courtesan Phyrne. She is known as "Cesi Venus", named after her 16th century owner and is apparently the only surviving version with her head intact. I wonder what she was originally holding 🤔.

Every time I see a Venus painting or statue, I pay extra close attention now, and for a moment, I let myself swoon in all the butterfly feelings from thinking of the way Jeremy pined for Emmie. 🩷😭
